In total there are 29 different classes (28 with the official 1.03 patch). Every class can be chosen by every Race.

Effects of classes[]

Classes change the base stats (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Charisma) of your hero. Different classes provide different base stat bonuses and penalties. Some have none at all. For every bonus stat a class gains, there is another stat that gains a penalty, so the combined total of bonuses and penalties will always be 0.

Each class and race can give from 8-10 skills to your hero, depending upon your race/class combination. These skills and the hero's base stats can be invested in upon a level-up. If a class and race have a skill that is shared by both, it is called a synergy. A synergy means that the hero starts with that skill available at level 1, and an extra skill point is put into it. This means that synergy bonuses provide more skill points than are available (at the start) to a hero with no synergised skills. However, a hero with no synergies has access to more skills since none of them are combined.

The dotted underlined text in this table is mouseover text. Hold the cursor over the underlined text to see what each skill does. Each bonus value is per skill point invested in the skill. The number in brackets for many initial skills shows that the hero starts with +1 skill point in that skill.
