The Monk is a melee based class which focuses on fast and hard-hitting attacks. The Monk is unique due to its default Crushing damage type and high resistance stat (the highest of all classes).

If something needs to be whacked really hard and pretty quickly, the Monk is the class to pick. The unique combination of skills and access to an ability which increases attack speed as well as Mighty Blow right from the get-go makes the Monk a prime pick for any enthusiast brawler.
The Monk can be paired very well with the Minotaurs. The synergy in both Ferocity and Mighty Blow as well as the Minotaur's natural bulk makes the Minotaur Monk a deadly opponent right from the start of the game. With enough points invested into Strength, the Minotaur Monk can also last for quite a while in battle, whilst points invested into Dexterity allow the Monk to tank hits a bit better, provide the ability to run from a particularly troublesome combat situation or attack even faster.
If hit points are a serious concern, pairing the Monk class to any race with access to the Constitution skill should help to remedy that. Out of these, the Swarm would probably benefit the most due to the race's lack of particularly powerful or tough units.
- At early levels, the Monk can find it difficult to last due to a somewhat middling number of hit points. Archers and other similar physical missile units are perfect for downing a Monk (elemental attacks are not so great since the Monk has a very high resistance stat).
